The Leslie Center's "Humanities Work" Institute presents a screening of the critically acclaimed documentary “Honeyland” (2019) followed by professor Sanjeev Chatterjee (U Miami) on “Pursuing Impact in Humanities Storytelling.” 

Following the screening on Honeyland, Sanjeev Chattterjee will draw from over 3 decades of experience as an award-winning documentary filmmaker internationally, to discuss how we might think about and pursue social impact through storytelling today.

 

Sanjeev Chatterjee is an award-winning documentary filmmaker, professor, and mentor to emerging storytellers. After earning his M.A. in English literature from Delhi University, he spent two years as a grassroots filmmaker focused on rural development in India before receiving a full scholarship to Brooklyn College, where he completed his M.F.A. in Radio and Television with a specialization in documentary storytelling. Currently, he is a professor in the departments of Cinematic Arts and Journalism at the School of Communication, University of Miami. He serves as the Graduate Program Director of the Documentary MFA program.
