Music Mexico Symposium Discussions and Activities

A day-long symposium on the state of Mexican art and music today from musicians, artists and scholars, organized by Brian Messier, Director of Bands at Dartmouth College.

12 pm: Surpassing La Cucaracha by Sixto Montesinos
12:45–2 pm: Lunch on the Green 
2–2:45 pm: ¡Cantaré! Mexican composer residency program by Philip Brunelle
2:45–3:30 pm: Tianhui Ng - Mexican Composer residency program MIFA Victory Players, Sí se Puede, Holyoke Massachusetts
3:30–4:15 pm: The need for representation in the music education by Eric Jimenez 
4:15–4:30 pm: Closing remarks: The Mexican Repertoire Collection by Brian Messier
(all discussions will take place in the Hood Auditorium)
