Looking for the Drowned Partisan: The Italian Resistance and the Environmental Humanities

Professor Shaul Bassi will present this lecture as the closing keynote of the "Affective Currents: Moving the Environmental Humanities" symposium.

The Leslie Center for the Humanities invites you to participate in the spring humanities institute symposium on Monday, May 22, from 3:00-6:00 pm, either in person or via Zoom. The symposium will feature keynote speaker Shaul Bassi (Ca' Foscari University, Venice) presenting his lecture, "Looking for the Drowned Partisan: The Italian Resistance and the Environmental Humanities."

  • 3:00-3:45pm: "Intersections": Short presentations from Institute participants about their current projects in the Environmental Humanities and how they intersect with Institute discussions.
  • 3:45-4:00pm: Break
  • 4:00-4:45pm: "Evolutions": Facilitated conversation about next steps for the Environmental Humanities at Dartmouth (publications, community engagement, future events, international partnerships, etc.)
  • 4:45-5:00pm: Break
  • 5:00-6:00pm: Keynote lecture by Prof. Shaul Bassi (University of Ca' Foscari, Venice), followed by Q&A
