Meetinghouse started way back in September of 2019 as a conversation between three undergraduates. Ethan Weinstein ('21), Avery Saklad ('21) and Frances Mize ('22) imagined a journal that gave students a hand in the world of literary publishing and allowed them to serve as editors of professional writing.
With the help of Professors Alexander Chee and Peter Orner, and a grant from Dartmouth's Leslie Center for the Humanities, Meetinghouse began to take shape. A little over a year later, and after combing through over 1200 submissions, the publication features the genre-spanning work of twenty writers from around the world.
The inaugural issue of Meetinghouse is out in print now, and is available for order here.
