Soapbox Sunday

Join the Leslie Center for the Humanities for our upcoming on-campus event, Soapbox Sunday. This is an outdoor event inviting students to offer 2-3 minute rants, raps, poems, speeches and any other form of expression to celebrate free speech and the open exchange of views and feelings within the Dartmouth community.

We encourage presenters to take your place on the soapbox with whatever has you worked up these days. If you are looking for inspiration, here are a few optional themes to consider:

  • What Voting Means to You
  • How to Plan for Our Possible Futures
  • Tales from the Age of Zoom
  • Social Media: Friend or Foe?

Soapbox Sunday will be held Sunday, November 8th, 2020 from 2:00-3:00pm under the tent at Wheeler Lawn.

To secure your presentation time, please write to Humanities.Events@dartmouth.edu. Walk-ins and drop-ins will be welcome to join and participate, and the audience is welcome to listen and consider.

Please note this an outdoor, socially-distanced event, following the current campus guidelines. Masks will be recquired for all speakers and audience members.

This and other Dartmouth events related to the 2020 election are listed together at the Election Events Calendar: https://news.dartmouth.edu/election-2020-events

We hope to see you there!
