Dartmouth Library Book Talk to feature "Mustang in Black and White"

Associate Professor of Anthropology Sienna Craig's recent publication to be featured in the Dartmouth Library Book Talks series this July, 2019.

Dartmouth Library Book Talks, a series focused on exhibiting the publications of Dartmouth authors, will be featuring Mustang in Black and White (Vajra Books, 2018).

The book captures the area of Mustang, Nepal in its elemental qualities, revealing the enduring cultural foundations and shifting daily rhythms of Himalayan village life. Photographer Kevin Bubriski's masterful black-and-white portraits of this place and its people are coupled with Dartmouth anthropologist Sienna Craig's thick descriptions of what is, and is not, seen through the eye of the camera. In this illustrated journey through Mustang, Craig and Bubriski consider dynamics of change and continuity in a highland Himalayan community.

As part of the Dartmouth Library Book Talk series in Baker-Berry Library, Craig and Bubriski will present their work Wednesday, July 24th, 2019 at 4:30pm.

Location to be announced.
