New Directions in Humanities Teaching and Research

A senior fellow at The Andrew W. Mellon Foundation, Bro served as the chair of the National Endowment for the Humanities from 2014 to 2017.  He has also served as the president of Colby College (2000-2014) and as president of Bucknell University from 1995 to 2000.  A scholar of political philosophy and an Army veteran, Bro is particularly interested in veterans' affairs and in making the humanities relevant to people's lives at a moment of unprecedented change.
