The Green Upside Down: Event Recap

Take a look at a collection of photos capturing this dynamic and interactive event organized by Prof. Mauricio Acuña (Spanish and Portuguese).

On Saturday, October 18, students and the Dartmouth community were joined by Mestre Deraldo and the Brazilian Cultural Center of New England for "The Green Upside Down: Capoeira and Afro-Brazilian Cultures at Dartmouth," an event designed to flip perspectives and engage with Afro-Brazilian cultures through embodied learning, performance, and dialogue. The event was led by Professors Mauricio Acuña (Spanish and Portuguese), Reighan Gillam (LALACS), and Gerd Gemünden (German and Film & Media), and was supported by the Leslie Center for the Humanites. Please find a collection of photos, captured by Rob Strong, recapping the event below.
