The students in Intensive Ukrainian (UKRA 11) and Intermediate Ukrainian (UKRA 27), in collaboration with students from Ternopil National Technical University, Ukraine, have curated an exhibition devoted to Ukrainian museums damaged, looted, or destroyed as a result of Russia's war on Ukraine. Presenting a variety of Ukrainian museums– historical, literary, art museums, natural preserves, and archeological sites – the exhibition provides an insight into Ukraine's historical and cultural heritage while highlighting the existential threat to this heritage posed by Russia's brutal invasion and occupation. The exhibits are based on the students' research, filmmaking, and interviews with the Ukrainian curators of the damaged museums.
The project is supported by the Leslie Center for the Humanities, the Provost's Office, the Office of the Associate Dean for Arts and Humanities, the Jones Media Center, DEV Studio, and the Hood Museum.
