Auteurs & Entrepreneurs: Turning Creative Vision into Cultural Enterprises

As part of FILM 44.17: Media Entrepreneurship and Practice, film writer/directory Marian Mathias and media and entertainment investment banker–and lead singer of an internationally touring rock band–Johnny Mathias lead a conversation on career paths in the arts. Drawing from experience across film, music, and entertainment finance, the twin siblings will explore how creative ideas become viable ventures, how artists navigate risk and capital, and what entrepreneurship really looks like inside the arts. The discussion speaks directly to filmmakers, creators, and founders interested in shaping culturally meaningful work while understanding the business forces that bring it to life.

This event is supported by the Department of Film & Media Studies and the DREAM studio.
