Telling Stories: Recovering the Indian Voice in Federal Indian Law

Please join us for lunch and a talk by N. Bruce Duthu

This talk considers the role that Native American literature might play in redressing the relative absence of an Indian voice in federal Indian law.  The aspiration behind such pairing of literary and legal narratives is to awaken the mind to re-conceptualize the place of tribal nations within our constitutional democracy, and in the process, ignite the imaginative possibilities of more inclusive, respectful and peacefully co-existing communities.
