Themes for Curriculum

To increase the pedagogical impact of the Leslie Humanities Center on the curriculum at Dartmouth, we will inaugurate a yearly “theme” starting in 2018–19. The theme, which will be an umbrella under which up to ten courses a year from across campus will be organized, should appeal to a broad range of students from the three divisions: Arts and Humanities, Sciences, and Social Sciences. The center is thus requesting suggestions for themes that can be independently interpreted by faculty from across campus and that be conveyed in one or two words: social justice, death, evil, etc.

Please send a list of themes to the Leslie Center that you would consider appropriate. The advisory committee of the center will select and schedule yearly themes for the next three years (through academic year 2020–21). Professors who teach under the “theme” umbrella will receive additional research funds from the Leslie Center for the Humanities.
